Greg A. Jones has been chosen as the 82nd International Rice Festival Grand Parade Marshal which will roll through downtown Crowley on Saturday, October 20, 2018. The son of Florence Jones and the late Donald Jones, he is a graduate of Crowley High School and Louisiana State University. Married to Amber Rodriguez Jones, Greg is the proud father of two sons, Kyle and Justin and one daughter, Alex. He is also the proud “Pop” to one granddaughter, Amelie.
In November 2006, Jones was elected to his first term as Mayor of the City of Crowley serving 2007 through 2010. After completing his first term, he was re-elected for two more terms, 2011-2014 and 2015-2018. Before his current position, Mayor Jones served as Vice-President of First National Bank where he continues to sit on the bank’s Board of Directors. In addition, Mayor Jones taught banking courses for the American Institute of Banking at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Most recently, he served as Vice-Chairman of KALEM, LLC, an oil and gas investment company, which he also co-owns.
With experience in the private sector, Mayor Jones incorporated good business practices into the city government, helping to stimulate economic growth and improve city services for Crowley’s citizens. City projects initiated during his term include: Historic Parkerson Avenue Redevelopment Project, I-10 Service Road, Avenue I Reconstruction, Northern Avenue Reconstruction, WWTF Restoration of the Rock Filter (FEMA), and LCDBG Sewerage Collection System Rehab Project.

An active member of our state, Mayor Jones is a member of Building Officials Association of Louisiana (BOAL), Municipal Employees’ Retirement System of Louisiana (MERS), LMA District “G” Vice President, Louisiana Community Development Authority (LCDA) and Kiwanis International.

Locally, Mayor Jones has been a coach for various sports through the Crowley Recreation Department and local elementary schools over the past nineteen years. He is an active member of the Crowley Town Club and Krewe of Town Revelers where he served as King Cimmer LVIII. In his spare time, Mayor Jones enjoys LSU football and hunting and fishing at the camp.
